The unit HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, which includes CPR training, gives you important and potentially life saving skills and may open pathways to employment.
HLTAID003 has to be updated every 3 years to remain current.
IMPORTANT: Please read the prerequisites before enrolling in this course.
Prerequisites:
Pre-reading (textbook) and multiple choice questionnaire must be collected from DVLC at least a few days prior to training day.
USI NUMBER: All students doing nationally recognised training like this need to have a Unique Student Identifier. If you don’t have one you can get it here.
Participants in this course must be able to perform a physical demonstration of CPR on an adult manikin on the floor before competency can be awarded.
Please wear comfortable clothing.

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
This unit is often referred to as Level II or Workplace First Aid and includes CPR training. Participants who successfully complete this training will receive a Statement of Attainment.
A knowledge of First Aid develops your life skill and is a useful addition to your resume as well as being a requisite in some areas of employment.
This course requires pre-reading. On enrolment you will receive a copy of ‘Emergency First Aid’ by John Haines, which will take about 3 hours to read. You will also need to answer a set of multiple choice questions, and bring the answers with you when you come to class. This will form part of your assessment.
The full day session includes theory and practical assessments of:
Introduction to First Aid
Resuscitation & Airway Emergencies
Trauma Management Infant/Child Emergencies
Venomous Bites, Stings & Poisons
Legal Issues in First Aid & Recording Treatment
Stress Management
The unit has to be updated every three years to remain current.
Off-site group sessions can be arranged.
You will need to update the unit HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation every 12 months to remain current and confident in your ability to administer life-saving CPR.
