Prerequisites
There are no specific academic entry requirements for this course, however, applicants must complete a Pre-Training interview and a literacy and numeracy (LL&N) test. This helps us check if the course is suitable for you, and what support you may need to successfully complete it. Working with Children Check and Police Clearance. You will need one or both of these to complete a practical placement as part of your course.
Recognition of Prior Learning
DVLC will recognise AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation. DVLC will offer students the opportunity for their previous formal and informal skills to be recognised through the Recognition of Prior Learning process. Assessment for RPL will be done on a unit by unit basis. Students will need to demonstrate that they have met the assessment requirements including practical training hours.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we have adapted
our course delivery to now encompass a combination
of remote and flexible delivery methods. This includes
interactive online tutorials, facilitated video
conferencing (classroom simulation) as well as one-on-one mentoring.
As a Learn Local Registered Training Organisation DVLC can provide exemptions to certain funding eligibility criteria. This gives you access to more courses at the Government funded rate. A Job trainer funded places also available to eligible applicants.
